Companion Tours & Events
Welcome guests, spouses, friends, and family to the 2025 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal and Power Integrity in Raleigh, NC.
The Companion Club is your chance to meet new people and catch up with old friends. You may register for the Companion Club as a part of the technical attendee’s registration or separately.
This year’s Companion Club, chaired by Linda Davis, promises to be an exciting and fun adventure. This year we have 4 events to keep your spouse, significant other, partner, friend, or other busy and entertained.
MONDAY, AUGUST 18
Time: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Cost: $70
Includes: Transportation and Tour guide (lunch will be at your own cost)
We have a 5-hour tour entitled “Raleigh & Durham, NC: A Day In The City of Oaks & Medicine”, which is a professionally guided bus tour of the cities of Raleigh and Durham, with a stop for lunch (lunch is not included in the cost of the tour).
- The Raleigh tour visits the North Carolina State Capital, legislative, Governor’s Mansion, Historic Mordecai, Warehouse District, Pullen Park Fayetteville Street districts and you will be introduced to Sir Walter Raleigh & Shimmer Wall, plus more.
- The Durham tour visits the Historic American Tobacco Campus, Main St Major the Ball, Parrish Street or Black Wall Street, the Hill and Blackwell building and a visit to the Duke Campus and Duke Chapel
TUESDAY, AUGUST 19
Time: 2:00pm- 4:00pm
Cost: $75
Location: Raleigh Marriott City Center
We have a Formal English Tea Party event in the afternoon. It will be a hands-on cooking class and tea party. Attendees will be making tea sandwiches, cold strawberry soup, scones with topping, short breads and miniature cakes. After cooking, we will eat and have a tea party, where we will have a discussion on various English teas.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20
Time: 2:00pm- 4:00pm
Cost: $60
Location: Raleigh Marriott City Center
This will be our “Pinot Palette”, paint and drink wine event. Everyone in the class will paint and personalize their painting with the help of a dedicated artist instructor and assistants, while drinking wine and listening to music. We will be serving veggies, fruit and cheese.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 21
Time: 10:00am- 12:00pm
Cost: $70
Location: Videri Chocolate Factory- 327 W Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601 (9 minute/.4 mile walk from the Raleigh Marriott City Center)
This will be our “Videri Chocolate” Factory Tour. The event will start with coffee and pastries followed by a tour of the factory, while the factory is making chocolate candies. Each attendee will receive a box of chocolate bars and bonbons. The tour guide will talk about how you pair chocolates with different wines.
| Companion tours have limited seating so make sure you sign up early. Signing up for the Companion tours occur during online registration for the conference.
